How is the "re-opening" affecting PPG?
As the Finger Lakes Region begins to work through the phased re-openings, what impacts will this have on my care at Panorama Pediatric Group? Panorama Pediatric Group has stayed open to see our patients for their well visits and vaccines using a number of office procedure changes to support the community standards for social distancing. During this epidemic we are watching this disease's significant impact on our families and communities as we do not have a vaccine for COVID-19 at this time. This was once the same experience before immunizations were available for deadly childhood diseases like polio, measles, mumps, and meningitis. Our children’s world became safer when vaccines were introduced, and as such we made a plan to ensure that these visits were still available to those in need.
Now that we have reached the phased re-opening, we want to ensure we can see both those patients that have elected to hold off on their well visits these past few months, and the large number of well child visits we normally have each summer. We are encouraging parents to call our offices to book their well visits now. At this time we have our schedules open for May, June, July and August. September will also be opening later this week. We will continue to practice social distancing in our office by:
Text to car: at the time you book your visit you will be asked for cell phone number for the person who will be bringing the patient that day. On the day of your visit you will receive a text message from our office asking you to remain in your car and reply "HERE" when you arrive to the parking lot. That will notify our staff that you are here. As soon as we have a room that has been cleaned in preparation of your visit, our nurse will text you to come in, you will be greeted at the front door and brought immediately back. You will have contact with your nurse and Provider only.
Requesting that patients being seen in the office are accompanied by one parent only
All patients over the age of two and their accompanying parent will need to wear a mask during the visit. If you do not have a mask, please advise your nurse and she will supply one before bringing you back for your visit
We will continue to provide telehealth video visits when appropriate and available
We have revised the set up of our office due to the higher demand for well visits. The majority of our patient rooms will be utilized for well visits only. For those patients that need to be seen for ill visits, we have specific rooms that will be used for these visits only.
For the safety of all of our families and our staff, any patient with a fever, cough, sore throat, body aches or exposure to someone with confirmed or suspected COVID19 are asked to call the office. These calls will be taken by our clinical staff and safe care will be planned based on this assessment.
