COVID and PPG, fall edition
/You can also find this information in our COVID FAQ page. We have continued to work as best we can to continue to care for our patients while also doing our best to ensure everyone’s safety:
We are disinfecting rooms between each and every patient encounter
We are asking that families come to appointments with two people only: the patient, and one parent/guardian. Please leave siblings home when at all possible, especially if they are ill
All staff will be masked while attending to your visit, and we ask that all parents and patients above the age of two also wear a mask at all times.
We have returned to offering telemedicine visits on a limited basis for specific types of visits (not everything can be done over video). To return to school if symptomatic will require a COVID swab, which entails an in-person visit.
We use a texting system to allow you to wait in the car and then come in when we message that your room is ready
At the time of this writing (9/10/20), we have started obtaining COVID swabs for symptomatic patients here in the office. These are sent to the URMC lab for processing. Response times are typically within 48 hours as of the time of this writing, but it would not be surprising for this to extend to 72 hours or beyond especially as we get further into the cold and flu season. We will be notifying patients of negative results via the patient portal, and positive results by phone.
